We provide Australia’s first and only dedicated PET-CT imaging technology for the veterinary profession. Our specialist team combines over six decades of specialised oncology and veterinary medicine with world-class data-led diagnostics.
Collaborating with veterinarians, PET/CT provides the clarity needed for accurate staging (determining the stage of a disease), treatment planning, and monitoring of pets with cancer. Our technology and expertise together ensure that vets and pet owners move forward with the most accurate cancer diagnostic information.
Pet Theranostics is Australia’s first and only PET-CT imaging service dedicated to the veterinary sector. Located in Sydney, New South Wales, our bespoke services allow vets and veterinary specialists to offer their patients the gold standard in cancer care. We use state-of-the-art imaging technology and are guided by Australia’s leading specialists in nuclear medicine and oncology for pets.
Primary care remains with the treating vet who leverages our technology and expertise to ensure optimum outcomes for the patient and their owner.
We exist to support veterinarians, enabling them to tailor treatment for optimal outcomes. With PET Theranostics, you gain a trusted partner in patient outcomes.

No. We work strictly in partnership. Every case remains your client. Our role is to provide advanced imaging and transparent reporting that supports your decision-making.
Primarily oncology (staging, monitoring, recurrence vs. scar), but also neurology (epilepsy focus, brain tumours), orthopedics (stress injuries, lameness), cardiology (viability, inflammation), and infectious/inflammatory disease.
We provide detailed preparation guidelines, including fasting instructions, glucose monitoring if FDG is used, and post-scan handling. Our team also works directly with owners to make the process seamless.
Every scan contributes to a growing knowledge base. By referring, you help refine protocols, validate tracers, and advance theranostic applications, improving cancer care in pets profession-wide.
“To me, Dr. Lurie is Godsent. He is always available to talk. Dr. Lurie gave us all the time on a call on Saturday morning. He didn’t rush us off the phone; he was patient with all our questions. He answered and gave us more information regarding the treatment than what we had even asked for. I don’t know what good I have done in this lifetime to meet such people. Lucky me! Lucky Sambuca! Sensational. Fantastic. Kind. Fabulous. Gentle. Understanding. Relatable”.
Sabeena & David
“From the outset, David explained Toby’s diagnosis and the treatment options not only in simple, understandable terms but, most of all, with incredible empathy. David’s honest and patient approach made our decision to undertake radiotherapy treatment so comfortable. David kept us updated on his progress and continued to reassure us. Over two years on, our little fella is still going strong and is heading towards his 18th birthday – every day is a blessing”
